The above scripture was also the motto of Judah, son of Mattatias, the leader of the Maccabees. When his father died of an illness, Judah took the lead in gathering a small band of Jewish brothers to rise up in courage and revolt against their evil Greek Assyrian oppressors during the time of Alexander the Great.

The Babe is the Bread of Life

Everything about His birth points to His death. Like the manna, tiny as a coriander seed (Numbers 11:7), fell from Heaven, so the Bread of Life, left His throne in Heaven, to enter the womb, a tiny seed; God becoming man to redeem humanity.

Anchored In Abba’s Arms

Christmas is all about Hope. If ever there was a time to need unshakable hope it is now. Not the unsure wishful thinking of the world. But the certain and confident expectation of God’s goodness in the form of Heaven Himself wrapped in human flesh.

The day after Thanksgiving, I made my favorite: a leftover turkey sandwich. When I grabbed a square and brought it to my mouth to take a bite, some pieces of turkey flipped out of the bread in the form of a cross.

Rosh Hashanah 5783; A Door of Hope

Yesterday evening (September 25, 2022) began Rosh Hashanah 5783. It is the Jewish New Year; literally “head of the year.” Also known as The Feast of Trumpets, the blowing of the shofar calls believers in Yeshua Messiah to come back to the cross and into our Father’s arms!
