“Who has BELIEVED [confidently trusted in, relied on, and adhered to] our message [of Salvation]? And to whom [if not us] has the arm and infinite power of the Lord been revealed?”
BELIEF. Who would’ve thought God’s saving power would look like this? Simple trust.
What took place in the first garden, causing the fall of man, was UNBELIEF. But what the first Adam did, in acting on the lie that God was somehow withholding good from him, the second Adam, Jesus Christ, reversed in His death, burial and resurrection (see Romans 5:12-20).
Profound Goodness Himself willingly took your place as sinful man (although He Himself was sinless) not only to make good on the mess made by the first Adam, but to double it up by making you an altogether brand new creation.
You are now a carrier of His glory and resurrection life because you have been made the righteousness of God in Christ. This is the very standing, identity and endless (unearned) favor of Jesus Himself. The whole slop closet full of performing to earn anything from God has been liquidated forever by the blood of the Lamb.
And now, His saving grace for every area of your life is free for the taking by simply BELIEVING He did it all and is your all in all.
The revelation of Jesus, the Triumphant Right Arm of the Lord, as your FORGIVENESS, your ACCEPTANCE, your HEALING, your RIGHTEOUSNESS, your DELIVERANCE, your PEACE, your REST, your PROVISION and your PROTECTION is all you need.
This is the good news of the gospel of Perfect Love.
