Arise! Shine! The Lord Is Your Light!

“THE Lord is my Light and my Salvation–whom shall I fear or dread? The Lord is the Refuge and Stronghold of my life–of whom shall I be afraid?”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭27:1‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

“ARISE [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you–rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!”‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭60:1‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

The moon has no light of its own, but reflects the light of the sun. So we have no light of our own, but reflect The Light of the Son as we simply rest and abide in His love.

To arise and shine does not mean to “get going,” “do more” and “try harder.” You can’t “squeeze out” light. Light is given, received and reflected freely as you’re reminded of your true identity.

All you have to do is sit at His feet (here and now as you read this, that’s what you’re doing) and hear about Jesus and His heart for you all over again.

“Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” Romans 10:17

Hear about the passion, agony and suffering He endured for you alone; to make you whole and make you His.

Hear again that the sins you can’t forget your Father can’t remember because His Son’s blood washed them away! You are forever forgiven!

Hear about how He was raised from the dead for you because you were declared justified, innocent and blameless in His sight!

Hear that this glorious new-creation identity He’s given you never changes based on your behavior, failures or weaknesses.

Hear that Jesus Himself is your healing, peace, protection and provision.

Hear that through His cross you already defeated and overcame your enemies. Remember, this Glorious One who lives in you is far greater and mightier than he who is in the world.” (1 John‬ ‭4:4‬)

Then hear and hear again that you are co-seated in Christ on the throne at your Father’s right hand; a victorious, beloved, child of God and co-heir of His Kingdom.

This is what it means to arise and shine; to simply remember who you are because of Whose you are, Who He is and what He’s done!

Just be conscious of Jesus and not of self. Don’t let that guilt and shame keep you down any longer! Your Savior took your judgement and condemnation and clothed you in His righteousness!

Right now, even in your depression, in your own personal “blackout,” The Light of His countenance and smile cannot be cast down but shines the brightest over you; to lift you up and fix your gaze on His unstoppable love and grace.

I know it’s been confusing. I know there’s been a dimming of understanding. But His Presence is here to illuminate your dark; to remind you that no circumstance and nothing you go through can keep you from the hope and future He has for you. You are His city on a hill.

“However, we possess this precious treasure [the divine Light of the Gospel] in [frail, human] vessels of earth, that the grandeur and exceeding greatness of the power may be shown to be from God and not from ourselves.”‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:7‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Everything and everyone else in the world may fail you, but Jesus never will when your trust is in Him. You may feel utterly alone, but there’s no place so lonely that the Light of His Love is not present with you. And when you have His Presence, you have everything.

So look to Jesus and be radiant as you hear Him speak to you now, “I’ve given you My glory. It’s weighty. It’s not dependent on you. You neither maintain nor sustain it. Just be conscious of it. Be conscious of My Presence not your pain; your position in Me, not your problems. Focus on My love for you, My favor over your life. Enjoy your relationship with Me. You will see how I AM the spotlight over your life and will bring many to the brightness of your rising!”

“God, all at once you turned on a floodlight for me! You are the revelation-light in my darkness, and in your brightness I can see the path ahead.”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭18:28‬ ‭TPT

Resting In His Love,
